Meet the 2014 QNMF Participants: Duo RoMi
Duo RoMi is a New York‐based flute and piano ensemble, dedicated to presenting innovative programs that combine classical repertoire with contemporary and newly commissioned works. Formed in the fall of 2008, the duo has performed at the Music in Midtown series in New York City, Princeton Sound Kitchen, CUNY New Music Festival, and
for two summers as part of the Institute and Festival for Contemporary Performance in New York.
Flutist Roberta Michel and pianist Mirna Lekić met at the CUNY Graduate Center while
pursuing doctoral degrees in performance, where, as a duo, they received guidance from Robert Dick and Ursula Oppens.

Duo RoMi’s 2014 QNMF concert is entitled Flute Loops, and will include a wide range of styles, including electronics.
